School?

The second week is half over, auditions are in a week, and Uta Hagen's bugging me with my inability to figure stuff out (but it's basically figured out so it's cool). I'm trying to make work (The Loft, not writing and filming) easier on myself, but that sorta fell short.

Anyhow, the only reason I really felt like posting was the fact that we watched Taxi Driver in Film Studies, and there's this great scene where DeNioro's zoned out in a chair watching TV while Late For the Sky is playing, which is just sweet! I love that song so much more now.

Great movie... Also, Brad, Dad, Danny and I are going to see CHEECH AND CHONG!!! on the the 13th, and we're super psyched!

I want an army of Digeridoos, 50,000 DIGERIDOOS!!!

So here I sit, it's monday night, technically tuesday morning.

Anyway, I'm only 50 seconds into editing the video from the Water Wars last night.  I'm still figuring out Final Cut, but I tell you the 50 seconds I have are quite the kick ass.  Anyhow, now I'm facing the decision to goto Solomons island with the family tomorrow, or stay home and finish this, it's a war between my personal priorities and that feeling that I should go for the sake of being with my family outside of this house.  OH THE AGONY, I honestly have no idea what to do.

Other than that, nothing to new is going on.  The guys at Totally Illogical Films have been throwing around ideas, and we have a plan for a photo shoot to help officiate the company, but nothing's been put into action yet.

I'm planning to see Cheech and Chong on Sept 13 at the warner theater, should be a fun time.  While in celebration of Brad turning 17, we're going to have him buy his first R rated ticket to see DEATHRACE on Saturday night... DEATHRACE!!!!  It doesn't even look good, but it doesn't have to be, a movie by the name of Death Race sells itself.

That is it for tonight, I leave you with a nice song by Flight of the Conchords...

He blew his mind out in a car...

This past week while going through an Antique shop in Downtown Frederick, I came across this issue of Life Magazine.

I had seen the cover before, and knew I had found a good piece of Paul Is Dead history. My dad and I both being believers in the ideal split the price and share joint custody of the issue. In reading the article just a few minutes ago, I wanted to point out something...

If you listen to end of Strawberry Fields Forever, as the music is fading in and out of jumbled whistles and a little chaos, you can clearly hear John Lennon say "I Buried Paul." In the issue Derek Taylor (The Beatles' agent) stated that John was in fact saying "I'm Very Bored." The problem is in many instances the argument has been that John was saying "Cranberry Sauce." My issue here is that they can't seem to get it strait on what was said there, both accusations have been made by people close to The Beatles, so why can't they agree on one answer?
I still have my money on "I Buried Paul" listen to it and see if you agree.

Paul died before Sgt. Peppers, look at the album art, it's a funeral. The drum is the grave. I could go on, but we'll leave it there.

Friday is a day...

TGIF, doesn't really work during the summer.  Anyway, as weird as it sounds I miss waking up 7 every morning, with the only thing on my mind being how I needed to get across the campsite and take a shower before the hot water ran out.

So, CNN says Step Brothers is Will Ferrel's funniest movie since Talledega Nights.  I'm most likely seeing it Sunday, and I'm pretty excited.

The first Mattress show is tonight, if you come you may catch a glimpse of me, if you don't I understand.  I work tomorrow, day shift, then Mattress that night as well, sunday's funday (after church).

I've been really digging Flight Of The Conchords lately, I need to pick up their DVD at some point soon.

Wednesday Morning at 8 o'clock as the day begins...

One day, I'll post this at 5 on a wednesday morning, and it'll be perfect

So yeah, here I sit in my pajama's not yet taken a shower, and used to getting up at 7, so nothing to new.  I had a dream where I went to rehearsal for mattress, and it was some kind of baseball comedy, and either my friend Brennan from camp, or Brad were working backstage with me, and Fred Amristed and Will Forte from SNL were in the show, that would be kick butt if it were true.

So I got a car if you crackas hadn't heard yet, so I've been up driving more often.  I even put together a kickin road mix...
  1. Life in Technicolor - Coldplay
  2. Stuck inside a mobile... - Bob Dylan
  3. Bowie - Flight of the Conchords
  4. Thunder Road - Bruce Sprinsteen
  5. Chocolate *mental note: no time for love Dr. Jones - Snow Patrol
  6. Bat Out of Hell - Meat Loaf
  7. Only You -  Joshua Radin
  8. Float On -  Modest Mouse
  9. Drunk man at the naval academy - The Mevs
  10. What You're Doing - The Beatles
  11. Nothing From Nothing - Billy Preston
  12. Falling Slowly - The Frames *note to reader: watch ONCE if you haven't
  13. I'm Alive - Jackson Browne
  14. On The Dark Side - John Cafferty *personal note: I still haven't seen Eddie and The Cruisers 2
  15. Frisco - Key Lime Pie
  16. Love Train - The O'Jays
  17. Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey - William Campbell and Wings
  18. Graceland - Paul Simon
  19. Good Time - Leroy
  20. Fletch Theme
sweet indeed, not to mention I keep hitting Snow Patrol's Eyes Open album, it's very good if you haven't heard it.

A special note about Garden State:
So I watched it for the fourth or fifth time the day before I went to camp, and by god, it gets better every time I watch it.  I connected with Large more that I ever really did, and I remember feeling really happy at the ending, I remember having a big smile on my face, and just relating with the characters so much...  So as I seem to do everyday, I applaud you Zach Braff.

Once I pay off my debt to my family, I think I'm going to invest in a GPS system, but not just anyone, one where I can get Mr T to tell me where I'm going, it'll be hardcore "Turn left sucka!"

I think that's it for now, I finished Kiss Me Like A Stranger on the car ride home, and now I don't know what to read or anything, me a Brad need to meet up, see Dark Knight, Step Brother, and get crackin' on some brainstorming.  Also, if anyone wants to borrow Kiss Me Like A Stranger let me know, Dad's going to read it at some point but he has to read his Steve Martin Book first, so let me know and I'll loan it out to you.

That should be it for now, perhaps I'll return later in the day, and post something new.

Give me something to hold on to

I've actually been sleeping quite well... Funny thing though, I woke up at 4:30 this morning, it was raining, the rain didn't wake me up, however mom did.  So, to her wishes I went to my room to finish my sleep, once I crawled into bed I found my mind in that unhappy, unrest... maybe I would have been better in the rain.

Man, I know how to pick CDs,  Eyes Open (Snow Patrol) is a great album, the new Coldplay one isn't that bad itself... and Flight of the Conchords is just hilarious, Karli just doesn't seem to pick up on it as much.  So here I sit, wondering whether or not I can sleep in peace under the stars tonight, or if the hammocks to wet, forcing me to sleep in my own bed.

...okay! sleeping outside has just become a requirement!  see you crackas later.

... Damn, stuck in my own bed tonight, well I think in that case I may watch "Blow" starring Johnny Depp.... I am so ready for VA in two days, you have no idea.

On this fourth of July

I worked from 9-5... that's the American dream right? :/  anyway, that video I promised, looks like it won't be happening, not enough time+bad weather, sorry guys I really am, maybe one day we'll see something like that, but not today... So that's it for now, I'm seeing Naria 2 tonight with the fam, it should be a great tradtitional 4th of july (then again, I never get to excited about the holiday, so there we go).

I did pick up the new Coldplay CD, along with a Snow Patrol, and Flight Of the Conchords CD  at Walmart after work today, so that should be nice.

New Banner

The Last Kiss inspired Banner is up...
The quote is from the second Alternate ending, I figured it was more uplifting than the Beach Boys one that I had up there previously.

Monday, June 23, 2008

Hello...

Well as I said before, I'm home, solely because I couldn't get someone to cover for me.  I'm basically running on less sleep than usual, as it always takes me extra time to get adjusted to a new bed, and throw in my restless mind, and you have a recipe for maybe 5 hours of sleep.  I maybe got another half hour on the ride home though, hopefully I won't fall asleep at work.

So I'm DEFFINATLY going to do the moped thing, dad just needs to open his eyes, and realize I can work on my license and have a moped.  Honestly... the nerve of that guy to tell me I can't get a moped, and then tell me I have to walk to work today (in like 100 degree weather), while I don't mind walking when I 1-have my ipod, and 2- the weather's not hot...  both of those aren't happening, might I add the walk usually ranges from 20-30 minutes.  So a moped would get me there in the same time it takes a car.  Seriously, it's really annoying!  Sorry to bog you down with my problems.

Now as much as I plan on working, and could use the money for my moped fund, I wouldn't mind getting a call like I did last week saying they wouldn't need me tonight...  but that's just wishful thinking.  I will say that if given the chance to go home early, I'm totally up for it.

As for work camp, this morning Rusty and I formed the ALL-STAR team when it comes to roofing, I was the wing man, lining up the shingles, and such, and he put the hammer down in the timeliest of fashion.  Rusty and I room together, with the addition of Ban Marshall, we stayed up last night answering questions from my "would you rather...?" book.  My work camp mixes are quite the hit, so much that I need to throw together another one tonight... I'm not sure if I can, but we'll see what happens.

So here I sit on my mac, as Meat Loaf plays in the background...  I have to admit, I really like his music, but it's pretty depressing at times... especially on Bat Out Of Hell 2.  So it's like good music, but it not the best thing to get stuck in your head.  Yeah that's it for now, maybe I'll throw together another post before I leave tomorrow at 7 AM to head back to work camp.  But in case I don't... goodbye until Friday...

I don't go Ka-Frickin'-Boom!

Get Smart
One word... Hilarious,  I don't care who you are this movie is great.  A pleasant departure from the usual seriousness of spy movies.  I haven't laughed that hard in a long time.  It's a great movie and you won't be disappointed.  I really don't feel like giving a detailed plot synopsis, so just watch this trailer and trust me when I say you will love Get Smart... a fantastic revival.

Total Recall
Ah-nuld plays an average man in the future who turns out to be a spy, who turns out to not be... Look, it's confusing and I'm sure I missed at least 15 minutes due to sleep... that's what I get for starting a 2 hour movie at 11:30.  plus, I can't take Ah-nuld seriously,  I just can't, which made it funny, but go see Get Smart instead.

So that's the past two days of movies... PLEASE DON'T see Love Guru, just don't...   I'm on my mac, and in my room right now... it's wild!  So yeah, I saw Get Smart today with Travis Brad and Tori, and we had a swell time, during that time Mom was kind enough to pick up "We Were Here" by Joshua Radin at Best buy today and it's really good.  My breakfasts have gotten depressing, as I've run out of quick breakfasts that don't require a lot of work, so I've been snacking on Smoked Bacon Pringles until lunch time...

Now I picked up a book called "A Thousand Paths to Tranquillity" at mom's store the other day, it's really a small coffee table book, but it's got a lot of good stuff in it, they're just like short quotes, but it always seems to help me calm down when I'm feeling stressed, or freaking out for one reason or another, so I think I'm going to start closing my posts with such quotes, because who knows, maybe they'll help some one out some time.  This one I find to be particularly true...
A quiet mind is the best cure for a low mood.- 1000 paths to Tranquility

I've found that lately when I'm stress, or feeling down for one reason or another, it really helps that I take a walk, clear my head, and maybe come to a revelation or two, and in the process end up making things seem much better than they did before.

Until tomorrow, good night and good luck!

An idea...

...is like a fetus, you need to give it time to grow and in the end the final product will be worth the hard labor.

Now, enjoy some Joshua Radin, and check out my Talk To Me "review" below...

WHY DID I PUT OFF THIS ONE SO LONG!?!

Talk To Me...

is the true story of former convict, turned hit radio DJ Petey Greene. This movie was incredible, I regret waiting so long to watch it. It's a true story, but you never really hear about, but let me say that it's incredible. I teared up at numerous parts in the movie, it's well worth the watch... If you can handle the f-bomb and the n-bomb deffinatly get this, you won't regret it... And even if you can't handle such bombs, get it anyway because this is a story you need to see.

Simply incredible

So I still don't know what to do with my time... People should TALK TO ME and we'll hang out. (GET SMART... Tomorrow mofos) so yeah, that's about it. I work tonight, and I'm not to enthusiastic about it... I remember the days when I was excited to work, but I'm feeling kinda drained lately (which is odd because I haven't been doing much of anything lately)... Oh I keep wanting to recomended this guy, but I never remember to, but click this link and check out Joshua Radin, some of his music is on Scrubs from time to time, and he's really good. On a side note, he's playing in Towson on July 26 (awesome, but also sucks because I'm working at mattress... well maybe next summer).

What the hell did I watch last night!?!

Okay, so yeaterday I pick up 3 movies from the Thrift Store on Main Street... They included, Total Recall, Monty Python's The Meaning of Life, and an odd David Cronenburg film called Naked Lunch...

Okay, so I watched Naked Lunch last night, expecting one of those really bizzare sci-fi movies I tend to get pulled into. Unfortunatly I got an extremely bizzare sci-fi movie that just didn't pull me in, I think it was because the main character just seemed to accept everything that happened, there wasn't much suspense, and I tend to get more pulled in when the person fights back against the bizzare reality, but that never really happened. To give you an idea of what I got into, here's the IMDB plot summary...

Exterminator Bill Lee finds himself following his wife into an addiction to the
bug powder he uses. After accidentally killing her, he descends into a
hallucinatory existence in which he imagines himself a secret agent answering to
a series of bizarre creatures. He channels his energies into writing "reports"
on his delusional mission, while trying to break his addiction. The story
loosely reflects events in the life of author Burroughs as he wrote the novel.

So yeah, I don't really think I can recomend this one, it's just far to out there. I'm going to put this on a re-visit later list, maybe I'll like it more if I watch it in a few months but for now, it's just to out there. Here's the trailer...

On another note, today's yet another free summer day, and I don't know what to do with it... I ordered a 50 ft. Ethernet cable yesterday so I can finally get internet on my iMac without bringing it downstairs, but that won't come in the mail today (I'm hoping friday maybe). But if anyone has an idea for what to do today let me post a Beatles song below that may give you instructions on what to do...

Yeah... so if anyone wants to hang out or something give me a call. (oh and this doesn't apply for just today, you can allow it to work for the majority of the summer).

SCHOOL'S OUT FOR SUMMER!!!

So I've always dreamed of the day I'd leave school with that playing behind me, unfortunatly I always forget to bring a ghetto blaster to school. Well today Linganore decided to hold the PA mic up to a boom box to replace the bells this day. And as luck would have it it was playing as I left today.

The funnier part had to be leaving 2nd period while they played "So Long, farewell alfedezhen adu" from the sound of music, and the select few of us who could sing along. wow... Also this morning Mr. Crum spent like 10 minutes talking about the iPhone 3G, and now I really want one, which sucks because my family's all like "woo Verizon" and I'm like "iPhone?..." so now I'm seriously considering leaving their plan and paying for the service on my own, because damn those things are sweet.

So the "I'll bring my rope" post is coming soon, but I need to finish the uncut DVD before, but let me give you a little teaser of the post...

Tori suggested that the term "hardcore film makers" could send out the wrong idea, but you know how it goes... so expect more on that later.

Summer is here, and The Beach Boys keep playing, as that's what I listen to this time of year. And they say that off the Florida Keys there's a place called kokomo. And I think I should go there to kill some time, besides the beach boys put a very convincing argument for me to go there. I think I'll hop on the Sloop John B. and head there.

...Okay, not the beach boys, but this is just as convincing.

Sunday, June 8, 2008

"I'll Bring My Own Rope" special post coming soon.

I've finished editing and need to transfer it to DVD. there will be a special post about it later, at the time you can see the songs I just bought off iTunes...

  • Pressing On- Bob Dylan
  • The Weight- The Band
  • I Can't Help Myself (Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch) - The Four Tops
  • Kokomo- The Beach Boys

My day today

Let me tell you all about my crazy day...
School = boring, nothing new there. However the weather was good while I was at school.

After that I'm go to moms store, pick up a notepad, a stamp that says "FILE COPY" and the movie Pi. On my way home, I'm enjoying the song Baker Street, by Gerry Rafferty when I get stuck in a torrential down pour, the kinda rain I haven't seen since MAD camp (which I wish was now, because I really need a break). Anyway, so Brad, numerous others and I were set to film a new movie for his AP world class, when the rain shows up, I call Brad, we cancel it, so I'm not directing a movie this afternoon. Okay, I can find other things to do, until in the midst of closing window chaos as return to the house, we lose power. darn... So I'm sitting up in my room listening to my ipod looking out the window for like an hour. Then I say to myself where's my DS, and I pulled it out, poped in Animal Crossing for the first time in many months and began to play again, I was focused on paying off my mortage so I could get another room in my house. I didn't but I oly have like 130,000 bells to go.

And so after that for about 4 hours, watching an episode of Wonder Showzen on my iPod, and an excellent (oddly) cooked meal, for no electricity, I finally have power again, but my internet's all funky because the weather does that to my connection... laaame. Yup that's my day, what fun! There are two check from work sitting on the desk in front of me, I know there's a third somewhere, and I'm wondering whether I should cash them or not. I think for the first time I've really been planning on buying Final Cut Express for my mac, and I may just do that...

Earlier in this post I mentioned a song, which I will post below for you crazy kids the listen to, as it's quite a nice song, and it makes me want to play the saxamaphone.

HOLY CRAP!!!

None other than George Clinton and the P-Funk Allstars, are playing at Rams Head in Baltimore, on May 7th. The only problem is that that's a school night, but I'm working on finding someway around that. I NEED TO GO TO THIS! I don't care if Brad and I will be the only white people, we know the lingo well enough to get by.

Tech Week Begin's tomorrow...

And since I can text Message updates to Twitter, keep and eye on the right side of the page to find out what's going on. Just check back every now and then and see what I'm up to during these weeks of tech.

I don't know if I'm covered at work on Thursday yet today, but I should know by tonight. In other news if I'm not at Church on Sunday, odds are it's in relation to the fact that I'm not at work on Monday... Sorry god, but I'll be back in like 2 weeks.

Prom's comming up and I need to buy Ticket(s?) by the end of the week, so I need to decide whether or not I'm actually doing this, depends on who's going and the whole date thing... yup...

So anyway I've gotten back into the Beach Boys over the course of the past hour, I have Pet Sounds and Endless Summer on my ipod. If anyone wants tickets to Charlie Brown let me know and I'll sell them to you for $5, that's a dollar cheaper than at the door. I'm not seen much, but I appreciate your support. Afterall, it is taking up my life for the next 2 weeks.

IN CONCLUSION...
Tech week updates on the twitter sidebar, work, god, prom, beach boys, charlie brown tickets.

PS I'm eating at Old Towne for the first time since they opened tonight (but karli doesn't know because she's doing other things.

PPS- Yesterday at work a kind customer told me that of the clerks he's encountered in his life I'm on the top of the list because I'm polite and friendly and such things. Pretty sweet, really brought up my day.

PPPS- In sadder news which brought down my day yesterday, Buddy the Podcast Dog had to be put to sleep, it's really quite sad, and I know he's going to really be missed by the whole Go Nintendo Podcast Crew, so Rest In Peace Buddy. If you guys want read about him you can check out the story here, it's really quite sad. So although I already E-mailed this to RMC, my condolences go out to him and rest of the Podcast Crew.
